While the mask certainly does provide great protection for head on collisions, I was unable to limit the side to side motion. To reiterate, the frontal protection is excellent. I feel as if I could be punched squarely in the face and feel no adverse effects from it. On the other hand, I don't think that the mask provides any side to side protection.
